You will need to include at least two quotes for your project from tradespersons with the right knowledge and experience to carry out the work. So don’t leave your application until the last minute!

Some projects that have succeeded in gaining funding are:

Fireplace restoration
Brickwork replacement
Specialist reports (e.g. earthquake strengthening)
Heritage enhancement projects
Weather tight repairs/proofing
Leadlight window repairs

ABOUT THE FUND

This annual fund is open to residents and ratepayers of the Selwyn District and will again be open for applications in mid 2009.
The purpose of the fund is to encourage and assist owners with work required to maintain and enhance the heritage of the District.
It is a contestable fund that is distributed among successful applicants as grants. Funds usually cover part of the work to be done with applicants making up the difference.
An appointed panel made up of 2 councillors, a heritage architect, 2 heritage advisors and a council staff member, assess the applications and decide which projects to fund.
Grants must be used in a one year period.
